Christmas Party Casual

Hi everyone! Welcome back!  I'll be posting a few Holiday looks for you on here that you can wear for all your upcoming parties.  They will be different styles from very casual all the way up to formal, hopefully it will give you a few ideas if  you're looking!  Today I have a more casual look for a neighborhood-type party, something more low key.  I want to specifically mention my shoes!  They are by Lindsay Phillips, the maker of Switch Flops which you know I love!  They have an adorable scalloped edge and the bows snap on and off to add different medallions on the toes.  It's like having multiple pairs of shoes in one! They're perfect, check them out!

Stuffed!

Hi everyone!  I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving with friends and family and are enjoying all the wonderful sales today!  I have a quick post for you about how I make my stuffing and an adorable apron that I've been loving!  The apron is from a cute shop called Carolina Dandy, check them out!  It's equipped with pockets, ruffles, a bow and monogram, what more could you ask for in an apron!  It would make the perfect gift for a cook in your life! Hope you enjoy and try out the stuffing this holiday season!

My living room mantel in the process of being decorated for Christmas!

Ok, so here is the recipe!

You will need:

Pepperidge Farm Herb Seasoned Cubed Stuffing
1 stick of butter per bag of stuffing
1 can of low sodium chicken broth per bag of stuffing
1/2 large onion per bag of stuffing
About 2 celery stalks per bag
About 1 tablespoon of poultry seasoning
1/2 tablespoon of fresh ground pepper
1/2 tablespoon of salt
A pinch of garlic powder

I made 2 batched of stuffing with two bags in each batch.  These directions will be based on making 2 bags at a time.

Start by finely chopping 1 large onion and 4 stalks of celery.  Melt 2 sticks of butter in a large pot and add the onion and celery to the butter.  Simmer on low to medium heat for about 10 minutes or until the veggies are tender.  Once the veggies are tender, reduce heat to low. Pour 1 bag of stuffing into the pot with 1 can of broth.  Add your seasonings. Stir thoroughly until combine.  Add the second bag of stuffing and second can of broth, stir the pot again thoroughly to make sure the veggies and spices are distributed.

At this point, I taste the stuffing and check for seasoning and consistency.  I usually feel that the stuffing needs to be mashed a bit and will do so with a potato masher.  Scoop stuffing into a baking dish and bake for about 15 minutes at 350 degrees or until the top browns a bit.  I received this recipe from a family friend and have made it quite a few times now and seems to be a hit!  I hope you all enjoy it!

Married Monday: Bridesmaids' Gifts

Hi everyone! I'm back, what a crazy month and a half it's been!  I'm officially a married lady now!  The shot above was taken by one of my bridesmaids, Katie, toward the end of the night! The wedding was wonderful and I will be sharing TONS of photos and details with you as soon I get all the shots back from the photographer.  It should be very soon!  I thought it would be fun to start a new series called "Married Monday" on the blog where I will discuss different aspects of my wedding and planning process.  I know I loved reading (and still love reading) posts about weddings and thought this would be helpful to all you engaged girls out there.  Or just the girls who love weddings!
For my first post, I'm going to show you all what I gifted my bridesmaids!

This is a quick look at what I gave them, I'll break it all down for you and list links to buy the products or similar options below!  The first items I picked up where the Lilly Pulitzer market totes.  I knew right away I wanted to use these instead of the conventional gift bag because they can be reused and it wouldn't be my wedding without a little Lilly thrown in!  Each of my three girls, my Mom and Mother-in-law received a bag in a different print.  They were a hit!

Now for what was inside!  I gave each girl a monogrammed robe for getting ready.  They received a light blue robe with their monogram in navy blue (our wedding color), I had a white robe with a navy monogram.  I'll include a picture from my Instagram below.  I bought the robes at Target and had them monogrammed at a local shop, the Shirt Shack.  I found this adorable navy and white anchor ribbon at Michael's and tied each robe up!

Me in my white version of the robe! Check out my IG here!

Each girl also received a mini bottle of my favorite wine, Pink Moscato by Barefoot with a navy and white paper straw attached with another anchor ribbon from Michael's.  Lastly, the little brown box, again tied up with an anchor bow and Lilly for Target nail file held the jewelry for the day!  Each girl was gifted a gold, anchor bangle with a monogrammed tag to wear with their dresses!  These were gifted by the lovely Alicia Renee Obsessions, please check out her adorable boutique and Instagram!

Here is a shot of the bracelets together.  They are more stunning in person!  You will be seeing more of these when the photos come back!  The girls really loved them! I wanted to gift items that my friends could really enjoy, not just on my wedding day but after.  Hopefully I succeeded in that!

As promised, here are links to everything I could find:

Robes: Target with monogram done locally (I had white and the girls had ballad blue)
Monogrammed Anchor Bracelets: Alicia Renee Obsessions
Nail File: Lilly Pulitzer (similar here)
Ribbons: Navy (in-store, similar here), Cranberry
Straws: Target

Thank you all so much for the support throughout my whole wedding process, you all are truly the sweetest!  I'll be back soon with an outfit post!

xxoo,
Kristina

Let's Cha Cha back to school!

Hi everyone!  I have a fun outfit for you today that would be the perfect school look (if I were still in school)!  The bag, shorts and head wrap are all in the Lilly Pulitzer print Let's Cha Cha.  It's one of my all time favorites but you could recreate this look with any Lilly print you have!

The most exciting and school-friendly part of this look is the Lilly head wrap from Greek Chic Boutique!  She has some of the most adorable, handmade Lilly print items I've seen and these head wraps are just amazing.  With my super long hair, it would get in my face at school all the time.  This would have been the perfect solution for me!  It's cute, keeps your hair back and it's comfy.  You could style it so many ways for a very casual work out look or a bit more dressy for school, work or dinner! Hope you all enjoy!

Top: Old Navy (sold out - very similar here) / Shorts: Lilly Pulitzer / Bag: Lilly Pulitzer (old-similar here) / Shoes: c/o Palm Beach Sandals / Head Wrap: c/o Greek Chic Boutique

Thank you so much to Greek Chic Boutique!  The wrap headband is perfection!

His & Hers

Hi everyone!  I have something a little bit different for you today which I'm excited about showing you.  It's my very first his and hers post featuring Castaway Clothing!  Both my outfit, as well as my fiance Chip's, were styled by Castaway.

Castaway began as a men's clothing company but now have an adorable selection for women as well.  We absolutely love their style, it's traditional New England preppy which is right up our alley.  Both my fiance and I agreed that the clothing fit great and was SUPER comfortable!  My white shorts (with flag bows...too cute) were so soft and lined which was a great bonus!  Chip's (with planes and palm trees, perfect for him as he's an aerospace engineer) were also lined with a boat chart, such great detail!  Our shirts were perfectly tailored, not too tight or too lose.  You can't beat classics like a polo and seersucker! Go check out Castaway Clothing, they're having a major sale right now and you won't be disappointed!  Their Instagram is great too!
